This is a basic course for those without prior knowledge of Modern Greek. It will emphasize the development of reading, listening and speaking skills in everyday situations.
The course begins on Tuesday, September 20th and consists of 50 hours of instruction.
The class meets on Tuesdays 6:30 to 8:30 pm.
Elementary Modern Greek II - Instructor: Ms. Elpida Bairaktari
This is a beginner’s course for those with an elementary knowledge of Modern Greek who wish to further develop reading, writing, listening and speaking skills in a variety of social situations, such as: shopping, invitations, asking for directions, describing family members, your home and neighborhood, etc. Grammar skills pertaining to these situations will also be emphasized.
The course begins on Tuesday, September 20th and consists of 50 hours of instruction.
The class meets on Tuesdays 6:30 to 8:30 pm.
Preparatory Course: Certificate of Attainment In Greek, Level A - Instructor: TBD
In this course students will be prepared to take the Certificate of Attainment, Level A Examination. This course is open to students who have completed four or more years of Modern Greek Language Study. The course prepares students to understand conversations about everyday matters, public announcements, simple advertisements, programs and instructions. Students will also practice simple, everyday interactions such as greetings, introducing themselves and others, apologizing, expressing positive or negative feelings, inviting, making suggestions, etc. The grammatical and syntactic topics related to these forms of communication will be emphasized. Students will also learn writing skills for composing simple letters, notes, descriptions, etc.
The course begins on Tuesday, September 20th and consists of 70 hours of instruction.
